The idea to rehabilitate and develop the Klein Piesang River Valley into a Nature Park was first muted in 2016. In order to get a better understanding of the area’s potential and the challenges which a successful rehabilitation program might pose, the Plett Environmental Forum decided to ask a scientifically qualified specialist to do a survey and draft a brief report.

This survey was then done by Georg von dem Bussche, a Forester and Environmental Advisor with decades of experience in forest management. Below is his report which you can also download here:
